Healthy Hooves, LLCPhoto JournalI apologize for the slow download times of the picures for those of you using a dial-up connection. Hooves I have TrimmedBelow are photos of hooves I have trimmed. Some are shown to get an idea of the before and after of a natural trim. Some are long-term documentation of the rehabilitation progress of horses under my care with various hoof pathologies. Check back regularly as I post more photos of hooves I have worked with. Excessively Long Wry Foot
This series of photos is of an extremely overgrown wry foot - a foot that is growing with a twist. The images on the left is before the first trim on 06/18/2008. The photos to the right are after the 4 month trim on 10/15/2008. The difference is remarkable. Simply providing this animal with a regular natural trim (and not as frequently as I would have liked) has made a world of difference for this boy. Note that this animal had not been trimmed in months prior to my meeting him. In addition to the extreme hoof length, this miniature donkey is obese and suffers from detached laminae. Despite the condition of his hooves he has maintained good mobility. Normal Hoof
This set of pictures is from a horse that has been trimmed naturally for some years by her owner. The pictures were taken before the trim. As you can see, there is not much that needs to be removed, however, by removing excess hoof wall now, this horse will not experience hoof walls that chip or crack. A regular trim every four to six weeks maintains the horses hooves beautifully. |
